While the Turtle Creek Professional Center is not a residential neighborhood, not only does it sit near several large residential communities, but at one of the most important intersections in the city. There are still quite a few locals nearby with pets to walk, meaning that there are at least a handful of amenities nearby. The hard part with living here is the lack of usable green spaces for you to take your dog out for walks.

However, living in one of the nearby neighborhoods does put you very close to the various stores at the intersection. Among these are a Publix Supermarket and a Pet Supermarket where you can pick up dog food for your pooch and plenty of eats for the rest of the family. On top of this, there are several excellent restaurants in the strip malls where you and your family can enjoy a tasty meal that doesn't involve your kitchen.

Dunlawton and South Nova Road may be one of the two busiest intersections in town. South Nova is one of the few major roads leading from all the way up north in Ormond Beach to far down south in New Smyrna Beach. Dunlawton Avenue is the main east-west road in town. Not only are the majority of stores and restaurants located along this road, but it is the main access road to both the beach and the I-95 interchange.

Walking a dog here can be challenging, at best, due to the heavy traffic that runs from early in the morning until very late at night. The amount of traffic and the noise it generates can cause even the most docile of dogs to become agitated.

There is a condo complex to the south where you can use the footpath that leads all the way around the lake. Alternatively, you can use the sidewalks in the surrounding residential areas for your daily walks.

While there isn't much in the way of usable green space within walking distance, there are several within a few minutes' drive of the Turtle Creek Professional Center. The nearest would be the Buschmann Park at the corner of Spruce Creek Road and Sanders Road. Buschmann Park is a spacious area for you and your family to come and relax in the shade. There is a picturesque lake to walk your dog around, a boardwalk with a pavilion, and lots of trails running through the Margaret Buschmann Parcel next door.

Then, of course, there is the beach! It's only a ten-minute drive on Dunlawton Avenue to the east. Pack a picnic, grab your towels, a frisbee, some sunscreen, and your pooch. Be sure you bring sunscreen for your dog if they have short hair along with a bowl and plenty of water to help keep them hydrated!
