Belt Court is a tiny neighborhood sitting on a dead-end street. The homes here are older but well-kept as is the communal property. The street has a narrow sidewalk on one side, but it's really not wide enough for you and Fido to walk along. You will be much better off walking along the street as long as you're sure to keep a close eye out for cars. Traffic here is usually pretty light and at the end of the street sits Highway 93, but the two do not connect with each other. Pet stores, dog-friendly parks, and eateries are all within driving distance.

Like most of the Greater Tampa area, the climate here is temperate all year long. Winters tend to be in the lower 70s during the day, summer hits the low 90s, and you can expect to see frequent thundershowers, but don't expect them to cool things down as they only add to the humidity.

The ground here is perfect for those who have a pudgy pup that could use a little exercise. Yes, this means the terrain here is very flat, but what better way to get rid of those extra pounds as needed? Because of the location of this neighborhood, the only place you may have to walk your dog is down N. Nebraska Ave which is quite busy and has nowhere for your pooch to do their business.

A much better choice would be to take your pup over to the Copeland Park Trail. This trail goes all the around the park and goes around in several different directions to help break up the monotony. The more variety you can add into your walks, the more you and your dog are likely to look forward to enjoying them. Just keep in mind that these strolls are all about getting the exercise you both need!

The only greenways in the Belt Court neighborhood are the backyards. If you want open, grassy areas and trails for the two of you to stroll along, the nearest are those found in Copeland Park Trail. Why not use this park as your training grounds for bigger and better hikes?

Just to the north is Lettuce Lake Park and the Lower Highlands Wildlife Preserve. Both of these areas offer endless trails and levees running through vast areas of open wildlands for the two of you to hike along. As a nature preserve, you never know what species of wildlife you are likely to come across. However, the one thing that the park rangers ask for is that you don’t try to feed the gators here as they tend to wander further into human territory to reach more food. Just relax and enjoy the hikes while having a great time bonding with your pup.
