Chosewood Park is located in Atlanta, Georgia and is situated just southeast of the city. It is a large neighborhood that, at its longest point, stretches for three miles. This means it can take up to an hour to walk from one end to the other. The neighborhood contains two green spaces: Boulevard Crossing Park and Chosewood Park.

Much like the rest of Atlanta, the weather in Chosewood can be hot and humid. This means that the winters stay short and are fairly mild. The spring and autumn are the perfect time to visit when leaves are either fresh green or autumn red. The temperature also drops to a comfortable level. Time to take your pup for the all-important walk!

There are plenty of amenities in the area, maybe owing to the fact it is next to a large city. Inman Park Animal Hospital is just a six-minute drive away and Intown Healthy Hound Pet Store borders the edge of the community.

The neighborhood is fairly residential and, therefore, isn’t completely natural although this doesn’t detract from the practical dog walking element of the area. The roads are nice and spacious, so the streets are great if your puppy gets anxious when near fast-moving traffic. The calm and quiet nature of the neighborhood makes it the perfect place to train your pup off the leash. Why not find some doggy treats and try walking them by your side? Controlling them with just the snacks is the challenging bit!

The neighborhood is fairly hilly, much like the surrounding terrain of the rest of Atlanta. This is due to the tip of the Appalachians located to the north, meaning the surrounding region leading up to the mountains is fairly hilly. Don’t let this stop you! If you’re are worried about the hilly terrain, the park's footpaths in the neighborhood are pretty levelled out, making them the ideal place to take a stroll.

Chosewood Park is the most popular green space in the neighborhood. It is extremely pet and family-friendly with sports courts and fields, as well as a whole host of playgrounds. Combined with this, woodland trails winding across the park create an ideal place and space to take your pup for an easy, yet natural walk. The park has four entrances from the surrounding roads making Chosewood Park easily accessible to walk or even drive into.

Located a two-minute walk away and to the north is Boulevard Park. This park was former industrial land and has now been turned into five acres of organic landscaping and a native plant sanctuary. The new park strives to bring the community together while providing green and natural spaces for people and pets to play.

Both parks get pretty busy during summer and spring when the community makes the most of the newly found weather after the mild, yet grey winter.
