Pine Hills is a small residential community located in the northern Atlanta, Georgia suburb of Buckhead. Atlanta is the state capital of Georgia and is home to almost six million people. Atlanta, known for its culture, is home to many museums and parks like the World of Coca-Cola, National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, the High Museum of Art, and the Children's Museum of Atlanta.

Pine Hills, as a residential community, is largely composed of standalone, single-family homes. These are typically in mid-century modern designs, however, there are a few apartment and condo complexes on the western side of the neighborhood.

Pine Hills also has a few non-residential properties. This neighborhood boasts access to public transportation, a few hotels, restaurants, the Consulate of Guatemala in Atlanta, a swim and tennis club, and a convenience store. There is also a larger, well-known shopping complex, or mall, in an adjacent neighborhood.

As its name might suggest, Pine Hills is a rather hilly neighborhood. The center of the neighborhood seems to be the highest point with both gradual and steep hills winding throughout the streets. Walking south in this neighborhood, you will find a more dramatic decrease in elevation while the north side has more subtle, rolling hills.

As a suburb of Atlanta, Pine Hills is composed of artificial and manicured terrain. There is a large creek that runs through the southern part of the neighborhood, but still very few natural greenways for you and your pup to explore.

The boundaries of Pine Hills roughly include East Paces Ferry Road and the railroad to the north, East Roxboro Road to the east, Buford Highway to the south, and Lenox Road to the west. Thankfully, most of the roadways inside this neighborhood are in the residential areas, so only the boundaries should have higher-speed and congested traffic.

There are two greenways located in this neighborhood. Unfortunately, only one of those is open to the public. The Roxboro Valley Swim and Tennis Club, located centrally in the neighborhood, is not open to the public, unless you have a membership with their facilities.

However, the larger of the two greenways is accessible! Shady Valley Park is home to a small playground, some tennis courts, and a basketball court. Known for its large trees and shade on hot summer days, this would be a great place for you and your furry friend to visit while out getting some exercise. Fido, however, will need to remain leashed.

Thankfully, the nearest dog park isn't too far away! Located in the neighborhood immediately to the east, you will find Lenox Park and the Lenox Park Dog Park. Less than a mile walk from the northern side of Pine Hills, this small park is perfect if Fido needs some off-leash or socializing time!
