Petal
Along the Leaf River in Forrest County, you will find the city of Petal. This is a cozy and lovely city to visit on your road trip from Scarsdale to Mississippi. The main drag of the city is Old MS Highway, stretching throughout the place from east to west. All the necessary dining and shopping facilities are located on this road. If you head south from the city center via South Main Street, you will come to a place where your pooch can finally feel free. Petal Dog Park on 116 Davidson Cutoff is a fenced park, providing a pawesome off-leash experience for pups of all sizes, temperaments, and preferences. You can train your buddy on the grassy area, or let him play with others, exploring and sniffing everything around.

South Denham Springs
Denham Springs is a city which features a few dog-friendly places in the area. The city is approximately a two-hour ride from Scarsdale. South Park isn’t a dog park, but the place is extremely clean and attracts many locals, tourists and visitors – four- or two-legged – alike. The park is family-oriented and has many convenient facilities for families. But your pooch is your family, right? So there are two fenced off-leash areas for him to choose from – for small or large pups -- as well as picnic tables, grass, and seating. Enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the park while your bud is letting some energy off with his local fur-iends! What is convenient about this neighborhood is that you don’t have to go to the city center for shopping. Just across the street, you will find Bass Pro Shops, and a bit up to South Range Avenue, you will spot The Home Depot surrounded by diverse eateries.

Zachary
A bit farther north of Baker, you will find another nice and dog-friendly place in East Baton Rouge. The city of Zachary lies 16 miles north of Baton Rouge and cannot wait for your pup to come and pay a visit to the special dog park in the western part of the city. Zachary Community Dog Park is located at 20055 Old Scenic Highway and features all the amenities a happy pooch may need. Your pup will bark in excitement playing in the small or large areas with others. Fido can finally get his leash off – time for real fun has come! The park also has a water station, benches, lots of grass, shades and a nice pavilion where pups are also allowed.

Northern Baker
The fourth-largest city in the East Baton Rouge parish is remote from the busy Baton Rouge, making it an appealing place to spend a day or a weekend with your pooch. Greenwood Community Park in northern Baker is a large green area which allows dogs to play off-leash. This exquisite park is prepared entirely for our four-legged friends. Your buddy will be happy to play fetch with you or socialize with local dogs in the neighborhood. Care to visit? Grab your leash and get your pup ready for a two-hour trip by car via I-10 West or I-12 West from Scarsdale. Time for adventure!
Zeeland Place
Zeeland Place is a small and cozy neighborhood in Baton Rouge with three spacious green parks connected to each other nearby. City-Brooks Community Park, Brooks Park, and Raising Cane’s Dog Park all make for an excellent retreat from daily life. Raising Cane’s Dog Park is a spacious off-leash area divided in two areas for large and small pooches to play and run. The park also features lots of trees, shaded areas and seating for tired owners who love watching their pups playing off-leash. Just a few blocks away, moving south on Perkins Road, you will spot a pet-friendly café in the shopping area – Zeeland Street Market. This casual American eatery allows dogs to accompany their owners at the outdoor seating.
