Northwest Mahtomedi
Chautauqua Park is a hidden gem tucked away in the northwest corner of Mahtomedi. This quiet park, which is only a little over an acre, sits on the eastern shore of White Bear Lake. Chautauqua Park comprises a wooded grass lawn that slopes gently to an unguarded beach where your furry pal can frolic in the sand. Picnic tables and benches are scattered around the site, providing various spots to hang out and enjoy the view with your pooch. Since the park doesn't get too many visitors, it's a nice place to spend a beautiful day with your four-legged buddy, away from the crowds.

Southwest Mahtomedi
Pretty and well-maintained, Wedgewood Park is great for going on leisurely strolls with your pupper. Spanning 11 acres, this park features bituminous trails that will take you and Fido past a playground, multipurpose building, sport court, and baseball/softball fields. There's also a pathway that goes around a scenic pond that several ducks call home. Some portions of the trails are lined with trees that offer ample shade on sunny days, making it a real treat to walk around the park with your best friend. Benches and picnic tables are available on-site as well, so bring snacks and Fido's favorite treats!

South Central Mahtomedi
If walking under canopies of mature trees with Fido sounds good, then make your way over to Wildwood Park! Located right next to Lost Lake, this 22-acre site offers puptacular, calming views of the water, which you and your pooch can take a closer look at by walking out onto the fishing pier. Other amenities of Wildwood Park include a softball/baseball field, sand volleyball court, playground equipment, and picnic shelters. There are also two parking lots with plenty of spots, so parking shouldn't be a problem. If you and Fido want to go for a longer walk, you can access the city's Streetcar Trail from the park.

Oakdale & Lake Elmo
Let your canine companion run off their excess energy at the Oakdale Bark Park in the nearby city of Oakdale! Just 11 minutes by car from Mahtomedi, this 5-acre, off-leash dog park is a pawrific place for your pooch to experience new smells and meet new friends. The Oakdale Bark Park features 4-foot-high fences and double gates to ensure everyone's safety, as well as a pet waste station, quarter-mile trail, and benches and tables for the humans. There is currently no water source on-site so remember to bring your own H2O! Dogs using the bark park must be properly licensed and vaccinated.
Downtown White Bear Lake
If your pup loves being in the water, then a trip to the White Bear Dog Beach is in order! A quick 10-minute drive from Mahtomedi, this Fido-friendly beach is located within Matoska Park in the neighboring city of White Bear Lake. Here, your best pal can cool off in the water, take a stroll in the sand, and meet other canines. Pups visiting the White Bear Dog Beach are required to remain on a leash not exceeding 30 feet and must be licensed with their city of residence. Also, see to it that your pooch stays in the designated area for dogs!
