My name is Jennifer and I live in Germantown, Tennessee, with my husband, three daughters, dog and cat. I have been a dog lover my entire life having grown up with several four-legged friends on a farm in Ohio. When we moved to Germantown, we brought a cat with us, but we did not have a dog at that time. I am now the owner of a brown Golden Chow named Scout, and a white and black cat named Pearl. My oldest two daughters are now out of the house, which is leaving me more time to take care of my animals and yours as well. Please contact me if you need some help with your dog. I am available to assist anyone in Germantown.

Dog Walking in Lake View

The small community of Lake View, Mississippi can be found near the Mississippi/Tennessee border. Though a small town, its just south of Memphis and north of Walls, which also happens to be where the closest veterinary clinic is located too. Unfortunately, there aren’t any pup-friendly places in the immediate area.

Don’t worry, though, as just 8 miles to the east is Horn Lake, where you’ll find a couple of restaurants to check out! Memphis Barbecue Co. is a casual joint that serves up southern classics like pulled pork, brisket, and other traditional American options! The whole family can chow down at one of their eight pet-friendly outdoor tables.

In the mood for some delicious and authentic Cajun cuisine? Then check out Crawfish Haven! This dog-friendly seafood place has a little bit of everything to try, and wagging tails are welcome outside at their two picnic tables.

When your dog has the need to romp and socialize off leash, head 18 miles north to Memphis for the Memphis Dog Park inside Tobey Park! This fenced-in park has two sections for dogs to play and water bowls. Biodegradable doggie waste bags are provided so that owners can help keep the park clean and free of pet waste. The park also has benches so that owners can relax and watch their pooches play.

When you want to get out and enjoy nature with your pup, drive east about 12.5 miles from Lake View to the neighborhood of Cherry Hill in Southaven. In this residential area, you’ll find Central Park, a furrific green space. Here, you and Fido will be able to walk or jog along a network of trails that wanders between two lakes and continues through wooded and open areas. Let your pooch wade in the water or roam through the open fields. Remember to keep your furry friend on a leash and to pick up any waste. After a day in the park, you two can head over to McAlister’s Deli and grab a bite to eat. Dogs are welcome to lounge beside you at the outdoor tables.

Not only that, but the 12.5-acre facility has open fields, a playground, and a spot to share a picnic with your pooch. Johnson Creek Greenway is another pawtastic spot for you and your furry friend to explore. This 5.8-mile trail starts near Highway 61 at Johnson Creek and heads east toward Horn Lake. Robinsonville is about a 20-minute drive from Lakeview, but a visit to Tunica County River Park is really worth the trip! The main draw of this furrific park is the EcoTrail, a 3-mile trek that makes its way through unspoiled Mississippi Delta Forest and around small ponds and streams. Your pooch will need to be leashed of course, and visitors are asked to stay on the trail to avoid damaging the unique wetland landscape. There's also a paved walking path by the river that offers spectacular views across the water. You'll find a museum here too, unfortunately though, your pup won't be able to enter.

You can even bring a pole along and try your hand at fishing in one of the 3 lakes in the park while your canine companion rests at your side. Wooten Park on Nail Rd also has some a couple of trails to sniff and explore. Don't forget to bring bags and water, and keep your pooch on a leash no longer than six feet.

Even though it’s in another state, the Memphis neighborhood of Westwood Shores is just an 8-minute drive away from Lake View. You’ll find a pawesome park here -- Dalstrom Park is a 75-acre facility with a 1.5-mile walking trail. You and Fido can get some exercise and fresh air as you hike or jog through wooded areas and past the fields and playgrounds. There are also some tables in the park where you and your pup can relax while you enjoy a snack or picnic lunch. Make sure you keep your pup on a leash and pick up any messes!
