Ashbrook Clawson Village is south of Charlotte and is bordered to the east by Myers Park and to the south by Starmount. This is a charming pre-planned neighborhood with winding neighborhood streets and Little Hope Creek runs through the west side of the village. What small businesses and restaurants exist here are clustered along Park Road on the east border of the town. You don't have far to drive, however, for a better business district and lots of dog-related services.

On the east border along Park Road, Bark Street Dog Spa will get your dog looking great right in town. On the north side of the neighborhood, Canine Scholars Dog Training can help your dog with any behavior problems they are dealing with. The Charlotte Dog Wizard is not far either and this trainer provides not only training for your dog but also useful information for you about dog-related issues.

Ashbrook Clawson Village is a really lovely neighborhood to walk through with a classic feel that will make you feel calm and relaxed on your walk. Homes are stately but not ostentatious and sit back behind grassy yards with lots of tall mature trees. Yards are not fenced, so walking along this neighborhood feels like walking on a long grassy field. Due to the big yards and relatively low traffic streets, there are no sidewalks in this neighborhood, but you will not miss them as you enjoy strolling along the flat, pleasant streets.

Little Hope Creek runs through this neighborhood and can provide a great place for you and your dog to find some variety and interest in your walk. There is no designated path along the creek and backyards open up directly onto the public area along the water, so you will have to be careful as you hike along this waterway so you don't wander into private property.

You will feel like you are in a park walking through most of Ashbrook Clawson Village. The creek which runs through the village gives a sense of wilderness and nature right in town while the forest along it is allowed to grow wild and lush so you and your dog can get a real natural experience while exploring.

Not far south from Ashbrook Clawson Village, Marion Diehl Park has extensive forested areas for you and your dog to explore as well as lots of lovely grassy fields where you can play a great game of fetch. Trails run throughout the area so you can stick to the pavement or wander off into the forest. Little Hope Creek runs through this park and into the larger Brier Creek which turns into Little Sugar Creek. The banks of all these waterways provide a wonderful place for you to explore, especially within this forested area where wildlife is likely to be spotted.
