Stuyvesant Town and the grounds of Stuyvesant Park is a multi-story high rise private housing complex with an 80-acre private park and grounds. The complexes and property are located on the East River between Lower and Midtown Manhattan. The apartments are pet-friendly and the extensive private grounds provide a parklike setting for residents to stroll with their pets. There are plenty of shops and services in the surrounding busy Manhattan neighborhoods that can be accessed on foot with your furry friend in tow. There are eateries and a greenmarket available right in Stuyvesant Park. While residents of Stuyvesant Town may enjoy their private oasis in urban Manhattan, New York weather knows no private boundaries! Although Manhattan has plenty of warm, sunny days to enjoy walking about the island, there is also rain year around due to New York's coastal location. Be prepared with waterproof, warm outerwear if you want to enjoy Stuyvesant Park in the cooler months.

Stuyvesant Town is a large housing complex and park. A sister complex is located to the north and the east river is situated to the east, with the East Village to the south, and Gramercy Park to the west. The complex is laid out with an oval feature in the middle and several access roads forming loops from adjacent thoroughfares to access residential buildings. The oval center of the community has a large fountain and there are multiple pedestrian walking paths with abundant gardens, lawns, and trees. When walking in Stuyvesant Town, it is difficult to remember that you are in a busy urban area at all, let alone on Manhattan Island. The area is relatively flat, but grassy areas feature some raised spots and roads and pathways curve throughout the neighborhood to provide access to park areas, features, and other residential buildings. Pets are welcome here, and many residents enjoy walking their dogs in the private green space nearby.
