Midtown
The great city of Memphis has so much to offer everyone in your family, including your fur baby! It’s only a 45-minute drive from Mason and is scenically situated overlooking the Mississippi River and the Tennessee-Arkansas border. The city's Midtown neighborhood in paw-ticular is well worth a visit. Your pooch will love a trip to Overton Bark! Situated in the beautiful Overton Park, this dog run has plenty of room in both the small and large dog areas for your pup to leap about to their heart's content, and bags and water are provided. Afterward, you two can chow down at Deli on the Square, where you and your pup can enjoy a sandwich and do some people-watching on the patio.

Walnut Creek
Approximately 30 miles south of Mason, the community of Walnut Creek is a residential neighborhood located between Memphis and Germantown that provides dining, shopping, and outdoor recreational activities. Shelby Farms Park comes in at 4,500 acres, making it one of the biggest urban parks in the nation! The park has over 40 miles’ worth of paved and unpaved hiking trails and walking paths, making it a very practical place in the area to get some exercise and explore with your on-leash pooch. As an added bonus: the park also has two lakes on the premises, and both allow unleashed dogs to swim and learn the doggie paddle!

Brunswick
Brunswick is roughly 18 miles south of Mason, and has easy access to both Interstate 269 and Interstate 40. Bartlett Dog Park provides a fun, off-leash atmosphere for your dog to play and socialize, as well as shade trees, benches, separate areas for puppies, small dogs, and large dogs, and a kiddie pool for them to cool down in! Feeling famished? Baby Jack’s BBQ, Sekisui, and Kabob International are some of the dog-friendly eateries in the area, and if you’re visiting from out of town and need lodging that caters to dogs, Suburban Extended Stay and various Airbnb rentals will accommodate you and your fur baby!

Cooper-Young
Cooper-Young is a dog-friendly neighborhood that is located about 45 minutes from Mason that is conveniently located at the junction of Highway 79 and Highway 78. Peabody Park and Glenview Park both have open spaces and walking paths that on-leash dogs can utilize along with their parents to get some sun and exercise! Memphis Made Brewing Co., Soul Fish Café, Celtic Crossing, Tsunami, Strano! Sicilian Kitchen & Bar, and Stone Soup are a few of the many dog-friendly restaurants in the Cooper-Young community! If you’re on the hunt for lodging that’s dog-friendly, there are plenty of rentals that accommodate pups.
Binghampton
Binghampton is a short 30-minute jaunt south on Interstate 40 from Mason. This family-friendly locale offers residents and guests access to local parks, golf clubs, and country clubs; there are even some fun activities for Fido to partake in! Memphis Dog Park has two massive fenced-in areas for large and small dogs where they can play and socialize off-leash. The larger area is an acre, and the enclosure for small pups is half an acre. Wiseacre Brewing Co., RockHouse Live Midtown, and Lost Pizza Co are some of the restaurants in the area that accommodate canines.
