Buckner Terrace is a neighborhood on the very eastern edge in downtown Dallas, Texas. Although this neighborhood is still technically in downtown, it is very far away from the bustling center and looks much more like a suburb than a city area. Not only is it not quite as busy as downtown, but the eastern part of Dallas tends to be further spread out and less plentiful when it comes to local businesses and shops in general. Although this can be great for some who are not a fan of the large downtown crowds, it can be very frustrating having to go out of your way to get everyday needs including most pet services.

Although there are some options, it is very limited and the only other option for residents is to go into the city. That being said, one of the best pet hospitals in the area is Buckner Terrace Animal Clinic.

Buckner Terrace is yet another pretty-average example of the environment most predominant to the west Texas region. With very flat terrain, hotter than hot summer months, a high level of artificiality, and several well kept neighborhood parks providing the only natural escape, there is no doubt that this is a Dallas town.

Just like most of Dallas, this area was created for a very specific demographic and has succeeded with flying colors in making great neighborhoods for specific people. The ease of traveling on foot or bike, partially due to the flat terrain and partially because the tight neighborhoods usually allow you to form a pretty close bond with at least a few neighbors, really sticks out to some people who love to be outdoors, use it as a primary mode of travel, or have children that they would like to be protected. The neighborhood parks are also extremely catering to children.

Much like the businesses and restaurants of the area, there seems to be a unique lacking of parks in this neighborhood. This is pretty unfortunate given that the artificiality of the area really lends itself to the addition of man-made parks, however, it has caused the city to really focus on the parks that exist.

The parks that are in the area are classically beautiful and have a small town comfortable vibe, yet are very up to date, thanks to all of the recent innovations. A great example of this is Samuell Grand Park. This fun park has just about everything you could possibly need with a driving range, an amphitheatre, several sports fields, and a playground.

For the best way in town to cool off on a hot summer day, Lake Highlands Park is above the rest. This public water playground has features for all ages and really gives the neighborhood kids a chance to bond while staying cool.
