Dallas, Texas is home to the neighborhood of Tessler Square, an affluent neighborhood situated in the heart of Kessler. The small group of neighborhoods in the area are named after the American pioneer city planner George E. Kessler.

Kessler Square and the surrounding area is becoming increasingly dog-friendly with Oak Clips Pet Store just to the south of the neighborhood Davis Street Espresso to the southeast of Tessler Square is a puppy-friendly café which prides themselves on modern rustic coffee. It's in a great location to walk your pooch to while also being able to pick up your morning coffee!

Kessler's weather is much like the rest of Dallas with scorching highs of 100 degrees in summer with very little chance of rain and warm, mild winters. This makes the ideal time to walk your pup in the period during spring and autumn when the temperatures reach a pleasant 75 degrees.

The neighborhood and surrounding area is known for the rolling terrain, mature trees, and abundant wildlife. Kessler Square combines the best of artificial and natural terrain to create the ideal place to walk your pooch.

This neighborhood mirrors the fantastic old city planning of most classic American cities and towns. The parallel blocks and sidewalks of Kessler Square lend to its name and the houses set back from the road create a grand feel to the area.

The area is mainly flat with slightly sloped roads when heading towards the west of the neighborhood near the golf course. This makes the area great for an easy stroll. However, you may consider keeping your pup on the leash while walking around the streets as the road can be quite narrow and cars drive fast through the neighborhood. One idea to consider is the many greenways surrounding Kessler Square, just a two-minute drive or a short walk away.

Situated to the west of Kessler Square is Butterfly Meadow, a dog-friendly nature reserve with plenty of space and opportunities for your pup to run off the leash. The Meadow is easily accessible by car or by foot with the entrance to the east of the nature reserve. This makes it a perfect location when entering the greenway from Kessler Square.

Just a seven-minute walk away is the Stevens Golf Course, a massive 18-hole greenway with the Coombs Creek running straight through the middle. This makes for a rather picturesque walk through the grounds of the club. The course is home to Coombs Creek Trail which is a paved nature route that takes you through the loveliest parts of the park.

Kidd Spring Park is to the east and is mainly used as a sporting ground. On days when the community isn’t using it as a baseball field, you are welcome to walk your pup around the field, off-leash!
