Celebration Village is a planned community right down to the sidewalks and trees. It is a colorful and vibrant area with a Disney feel. You will find mostly artificial turf in the downtown area and can expect it to be a sidewalk-heavy experience for your dog. However, you will find plenty of planned greenways in the downtown area with trees for shade and places to sit. A relatively flat terrain is coupled with a great view of Lake Rianhard off Front Street.
Market Street is a tourist-heavy experience as well so be mindful of the anxiety large crowds can create in even the most experienced dogs. Be doubly aware of the heat building up on sidewalks in the height of the summer. It might be best to walk Fido in the early morning or later in the evening. Bring your walking shoes and plan to bring water as this is more of a laid back metro area without amenities for our furry friends.
How many greenways are there in Celebration Village?
Celebration Village is considered the downtown area and you can expect that kind of tropical metro feel, but there are planned parks and green spaces you can enjoy with your pup. Founders Park is on Campus Street and Celebration Avenue on the east side while Hippodrome Park is considered part of the Village at Greenbrier and Iris. Longmeadow Park is on Longmeadow Street and Veranda is at Veranda Place and Camelia Street. All of these parks have plenty of trees for shade, benches for taking a rest, trash bins, and access to water.
The open green lawns in the parks are great for on-leash training or playing with your canine friend. These are also family-friendly areas so expect children to be present and curious about your pup. You can gently remind overzealous kiddos that it's not a good idea to approach strange dogs.
