The Majestic Seas Condo can be found five blocks south from the Minuteman Causeway and close the end of Ocean Beach Boulevard. The entire condo is surrounded on three sides by a massive paved parking lot, but on the east side of the building, there is nothing but scrub, sand, and the water. The beaches here in Cocoa Beach are open to dogs during certain times of the day.
When you need food for your family or your four-legged friend, there is a Winn-Dixie supermarket less than five minutes to the northwest. At the same intersection is the Florida Surf Museum and a Ron Jon Surf Shop. You can walk to nearest Starbucks in about ten minutes or less and there are several restaurants nearby where you can grab a quick bite to eat or enjoy a sit-down meal with your family when no one feels like cooking after a hard day.
While not exactly a major thoroughfare, Ocean Beach Boulevard tends to be a bustling road, especially during the morning and evening rush hours. Both the northbound and southbound lanes of this divided highway have sidewalks running along them for you and your dog to use during your walks. Both have been made wide enough to accommodate a significant amount of pedestrian traffic and the flat terrain will definitely mean that you won't be the only people around.
For many dogs, the presence of noisy traffic can be stressful, making them uncomfortable and prone to being startled. The best thing you can do to help reduce your pup's stress levels and the risk of uncharacteristic behavior is to use a short walking leash. A short leash will help you to maintain a firmer hand and more control while giving your dog the security they need to keep their stress levels down in such a busy neighborhood.
With the condo being built right on the beach, the nearest green space is the miles of sand running along the Atlantic coast. There are specific hours you and your dog are allowed to be on the beach, so keep an eye on the regulations. Remember that your dog should be on a leash and that you'll need to clean up after them when necessary.
Five minutes to the south on A1A is the Cocoa Beach public dog park. The park has a fenced area that covers nearly an acre and is divided into areas for large and small breeds to play in. There is water for thirsty pups along with shade and seating for dog owners to relax on. When playtime is over, there even is a rinse station where you can wash the dust and dirt off while cooling your dog down at the same time! This definitely comes in handy in those warmer summer months.
