Much like its name, Adamson Country Estates, this a community of large "estate-like" properties with homes to suit. This neighborhood of upscale homes is sandwiched between I-95 and Adamson Road around a large artificial square lake. Unlike buying a house in town where the amount of property you live on is marked by the size and number of "lots" your home is built on, the houses in this area are on acreage with plenty of room to raise a family, including at least one family dog!
The one thing you won't find out here, however, is anywhere to shop for food. For these amenities, you must drive east into Cocoa proper, which is the price you pay for living this far out. If you drive south on Adamson and East on SR-524, you can be at a Walmart Supercenter in less than fifteen minutes. Here, you can find food and clothing for your family and plenty of supplies for your family hound.
What is the terrain like in Adamson Country Estates?
Adamson Country Estates has one road into the community, Sorrell Drive, where the traffic is minimal on most days with the exception of those headed to or from the equestrian center. The only issue is the noise generated by I-95 running on the eastern edge of the area. While the traffic may not bother you, the noise it creates can be a bit of nuisance, especially during the day when traffic is especially busy.
Beyond the houses and equestrian center, the Brevard County Disposal Facility sits on the west side of Adamson Road. The facility tends to generate a lot of noise and traffic during the week but falls silent on the weekends. Sorrel Drive is a dirt road with plenty of grass on either side if you feel the need to take a walk with your dog outside of your yard. The same can be said of Adamson Road, except that it's paved and has significantly more traffic on it.
How many greenways are there in Adamson Country Estates?
Each of the yards are green spaces in their own right, but that doesn't mean you and your dog don't crave a change of scenery from time to time. On this note, unless you fancy taking your dog for walks in the dense woods on the west side of Adamson Road, you have several options to choose from.
The nearest off-leash dog parks are both within a fifteen-minute drive. Fay Lake Wilderness Dog Park offers two large runs. There are plenty of places for dog owners to sit in the shade and there are trails outside of the fenced areas for the two of you to go for walks along.
The other one is only a minute or two further away on Pluckebaum road. The Barks and Recreation dog park also offers separate zones for the different sizes of dogs, lots of shade to sit under, and water fountains. Behind the dog park, there is a large lake you can hike around.
