Top dog walkers in Britt Estates
Wag! Walkers know Britt Estates
Britt Estates is a single street of single-family homes branching off of Rayburn Road. Each of the houses here has a large yard with plenty of room for a family dog to run around. Living out here puts you in a tranquil neighborhood with a large area of woods to the south. However, the woods are private property, so you won't want to venture there.
Shopping is only a short drive to the east where there is a Walmart Supercenter. The vast majority of the shopping in Cocoa can be found along US-1 and down on West King Street. You should be able to find everything you need between the two places, including your pooch's favorite dog foods and treats.
While there aren't any parks in the immediate area, there are several throughout the city and several wildlife management areas, wildlife refuges, and forests to the west where you and your pup can take to the trails for long hikes.
What is the terrain like in Britt Estates?
Britt Estates sits in a rural area of the city with woods all around and lots of shade. Being on a dead-end street definitely has its advantages! One of them is the distinct lack of traffic on Britt Road. The only time there is much in the way of congestion is as people take off for work in the morning and head back home at the end of the day. For those with kids, the school buses pick up at the end of Britt Road on Rayburn.
Early mornings and the middle part of the day are the best times to avoid traffic as there aren't any sidewalks for the two of you to walk on in this neighborhood. During the warmer months of the year, you will find the middle of the day to be too hot to go out for your daily walks. The best time of day is early in the morning which will help you avoid the traffic and the heat.
How many greenways are there in Britt Estates?
Living out here is a lot like living out in the country as you are surrounded by areas of woods. However, if you feel like you need a park to take your dog to, why not take them to the Barks and Recreation dog park in Rockledge? This park has two large areas for dogs to play in off-leash with water fountains for the pups to help keep them hydrated. It's a very popular place, so your dog shouldn't have any problem finding plenty of friends to play with while they are there!
Less than half an hour to the west is the Tosohatchee Wildlife Management Area. This wildlife region covers a vast area of woods with plenty of nature trails. You are likely to encounter any number of creatures along the way, including alligators. The alligators are not very friendly and you should never feed them! Exercise caution in this area and both you and your pooch should be able to enjoy all that the region has to offer.
