Wag! Walkers know Plaza Heights
Plaza Heights could be called an "alphabet" neighborhood as the streets in the community are A Street, B Street, and C Street! Someone must have been having a problem with their creativity on the day these streets were being named! However, this is a quiet neighborhood next door to the Endeavour Elementary Magnet School along Pineda Street. This is also a townhouse community with a large public area of grass in the center. The Pineda Public swimming pool sits at the western end of the area.
When you need supplies for your family, including the four-legged member, there is a Sav-a-Lot and Harvey's Supermarket five minutes away. The Walmart Supercenter on Clearlake Road is less than ten minutes. Unlike most cities, the restaurants in town are spread out. If you want to take your family out to eat, be prepared to drive to the nearest dining establishments!
What is the terrain like in Plaza Heights?
Within Plaza Heights, there are sidewalks for you and your pooch to make good use of for your daily walks. If all you do is walk around the community, the two of you will enjoy a nice long walk. Traffic is minimal during most of the day, with limited congestion during the morning and afternoon rush hours. The flat roads and terrain shouldn't present you with any difficulties while you hike your way through the region.
Out on Pineda Street, the story is a little different as, not only does this street connect multiple residential areas, but during the school year, there will be plenty of big, yellow buses feeding the Magnet School. Since Pineda Street has no sidewalks, you and your pup may want to stick close to home and avoid dealing with heavy traffic on a street that provides no safe walkways.
How many greenways are there in Plaza Heights?
Unlike many of the communities in Cocoa, Plaza Heights has a lot of green space surrounding the homes, including a vast open area of grass complete with a gazebo in the middle. There is plenty of room for you and your dog to play! Remember that in this community, your dog must be on a leash at all times in public areas and you should carry plenty of bags to clean up any messes.
The nearest off-leash dog park, Barks and Recreation, is less than ten minutes to the south on Pluckebaum Road. This aptly-named park has two vast fenced-in areas for large and small dogs to run around in, free from the restraint of a leash. Each zone has a water fountain for the pups and plenty of places to sit in the shade. The park sits on the edge of a large lake where you and your pooch can go for long walks together.
