Wag! Walkers know Center Park Holly Hill
Center Park is in the Holly Hill part of the Greater Daytona area and consists of single-family homes in a neighborhood between Mason Avenue and Brentwood Drive. While the neighborhood itself is residential, it sits behind the many businesses along Mason.
For those who are looking for somewhere to eat, Daytona has a wealth of restaurants to choose from serving up everything from All-American cuisine to Latin and Mediterranean fare. Of course, don't forget the seafood and steaks! There is a small park nearby, but Sunnyland Park is only a small park with a patch of grass to play on. If you want dog food and dog parks, be ready to drive to get to them.
Daytona is the land of sand, surf, and sun. Summers here run for weeks in the 90 to 100-degree range with seemingly endless sunshine and water temperatures in the 80-degree range, making for ideal swimming weather.
What is the terrain like in Center Park Holly Hill?
If you are looking for something in the way of challenging terrain, you aren't really going to find much of it here. This is suburbia at its finest with block upon block of houses that all look pretty much the same. The ground itself couldn't be more level if you planned it this way, but this doesn't mean you can’t still make your walks fun and challenging in other ways.
Create your own "Block Challenge" by seeing how many different blocks you and your pup can discover on any given day. Mix and match the blocks and go for distance on one day and then perhaps keep your trip short the next. Get out early in the morning and go for a jog! Your pup may appreciate the run.
The big thing to keep in mind is that variety is the spice of life and the more you can change your routes, the happier your pet will be!
How many greenways are there in Center Park Holly Hill?
Beyond the tiny Sunnyland Park, there isn't much in the way of green space nearby. In fact, if you want a large area of green space to explore, you should hit N Beach Street and head north. Once you get out of Ormond Beach, it's only a short drive to Tomoka and Bulow State Parks.
Between the two parks, there are over 18,000 acres of forest and wetlands to discover on the many trails running in both parks. In Tomoka State Park, you can hike into the ancient village of Nocoroco, built by the Timucuan Indians some 1,500 years ago and site of one of the largest "Indian Mounds" in the state. When you get done in Tomoka, you can discover the ruins of the Bulow Plantation before hiking along the miles of trails within the park's boundary.
Both offer plenty of shade and an incredible variety of birds and wildlife to look for on your hikes.
