Wag! Walkers know The Pendleton Club Condominium
While condo living might not be for everyone, when that condo happens to be on the World's Most Famous Beach, it can be a wonderful experience. The Pendleton Club Condos actually sit on the shores of the Halifax River, but you are only 3.5 short blocks from the beach. At the same time, you are only a short drive from some of the best restaurants in the Daytona area. A1A has multiple restaurants, clubs, and bars for those who love the nightlife. The only thing that may be a bit of a detriment to the beachside is that there is a distinct lack of parks to enjoy.
Nothing beats summer weather in the Daytona Beach area! The weather here is in the 90s with endless blue skies and only the occasional rainstorm to deal with. In the winter, the weather stays comfortable with temperatures in the 40s and 50s so you can still take Fido out for walks.
What is the terrain like in The Pendleton Club Condominium?
The terrain here is much like the rest of beachside in that it is flat and uneventful which you might think won't present much of a challenge when it comes to going walking. The reality is something completely different. To make your walks more interesting, you just have to learn to be more creative.
For example, you could walk around different blocks, go different directions, or better yet, take Fido out to the beach and let them enjoy hiking on the sand.
The most important thing to keep in mind when going for walks with your dog in the summer months is that the pavement tends to get very hot. The easiest way to test a paved surface for temperature is to place the back of your hand on the surface. If you cannot keep it in place for at least ten seconds, then it is too hot for your pup to walk on.
How many greenways are there in The Pendleton Club Condominium?
The only real greenway here is the beach itself. For anything alternative, you should be prepared to drive to one of the nearby state parks. If you choose to walk on the beach, be sure to use both sections. The soft sand closer to A1A makes walking hard as it tends to suck at your feet which, in turn, makes it much harder to walk and gives everyone's muscles a serious workout. Once you reach the outermost limits of your walk, be sure to turn around and use the hard packed wet sand next to the surf for the walk back as it will be a lot easier on everyone's leg muscles!
If you want somewhere a little greener, it's only a short drive north to Tomoka State Park where you will find over 2,000 acres of forest and an ancient Timucuan Indian village to explore. There are plenty of natural sights to explore with Fido!
