Top dog walkers in Vinings
Wag! Walkers know Vinings
Vinings is a small section of single-family homes out in the Indigo Pines community near the LPGA International Golf Course. While there aren't any restaurants in the immediate area, there are plenty to choose from along International Speedway Blvd. You can find everything from fast-food to fine dining. The hardest part is trying to decide what you want to eat!
Living here puts you close to the Daytona International Speedway, the Volusia Mall, and the Community Dog Park at the Halifax Humane Society. Just because you aren’t living downtown doesn't mean you can’t still enjoy all that Daytona has to offer!
The World's Most Famous Beach is the perfect place to spend summers when the temperatures are in the 90s and the water temperatures are in the 80s. Of course, you can always walk the beach in the winter as long as you don't mind wearing long pants and a light jacket for the 50-degree weather.
What is the terrain like in Vinings?
Vinings is part of the Indigo Pines Golf Course with plenty of grass, lakes, and ponds to walk around. The one place you and your pup are probably not welcome is on the golf course itself.
Beyond this, the terrain here is pretty flat. Thankfully, the developers thought to add in plenty of sidewalks to take you anywhere you want to go. The more variety you build into your walks, the more fun it will be for both of you.
The Indigo area is split into different mini-neighborhoods. Since most of your walking here will be done on paved surfaces, you need to give your dog's paws time to get used to the rough surfaces. If you start nice and slow giving their paws time to toughen up, then you can go anywhere! Just remember to exercise caution around high traffic areas, though you shouldn't have much of an issue with that in the more residential sections of the neighborhood.
How many greenways are there in Vinings?
The entire community sits on one vast greenway, the golf course. But unless you plan to walk on sidewalks forever, you and your pup will need to branch out. Living here gives you a couple of excellent alternatives.
You can take your dog over to the Community Dog Park at the Halifax Humane Society where they have built a large dog park with fenced in areas for small and large breeds. There are water fountains for dogs and people alike, an agility course to use, and plenty of shade for you to sit in while your pup socializes.
Alternatively, you can head out to the Tiger Bay State Forest and Wildlife Management Area. The two of you can hike along the many miles of trails in these areas, enjoy spectacular scenery, and spend as much time as you can looking for black bears, whitetail deer, and the many other animals and birds that live here.
