Massey Ranch Airpark is one of the more unusual neighborhoods in town. It sits right next to the runway running north-south next to Absolute Aviation and Viking Aircraft Engines, both of which use it. However, they are not the only ones to use this private runway. All the homes sit on Flying M Court, but this is not what sets this community apart from the rest. It is that they all have aircraft hangers in their backyards! There is a taxiway coming off the runway that loops around the entire neighborhood.
For your shopping convenience, there is a Winn-Dixie less than fifteen minutes away at the corner of SR-442 and US-1. Here, you can find everything your family needs in the way of food, including the one with the droopy eyes that always look so sad. US-1 is home to a wide variety of shops, businesses, and amazing places to take your family out for a meal.
One of the significant advantages of living in Massey Ranch Airpark is the distinct lack of traffic. There are only two types of traffic here: vehicular and aircraft. Both are in relatively short supply because there are only a few homes in the region. You will, of course, have to get used to the noise of passing aircraft, but this is relatively infrequent. You are likely to have more noise coming from the businesses on the west side of the runway.
There are extensive residential areas to the north and south, but the traffic they generate has minimal effects on your daily life. The only time it might be a problem is during the morning and evening rush hours when the traffic coming out of the northern community hits West Park Avenue, but this only lasts for a short period of time.
While there aren't any sidewalks, the small amount of traffic should not pose a problem during your walks.
Do you really need green spaces when your yard is as big as those is Massey Ranch Airpark? When you add in the woods and lakes around the southern and eastern sides of the neighborhood to hike in, the question almost becomes moot. The woods are a very popular place to go walking and the lakes have walking paths around them for added fun.
On West Park Avenue is Rotary Park, a large green space that includes woods, a small lake with a fountain, lots of parking, and plenty of carefully maintained lawns for you and your dog to play on.
There is a broad expanse of grass and lakes between the housing area and the runway. You and your dog should be able to have a lot of fun running around! Keep your dog on a leash at all times to ensure they don't run out onto the runway at an inappropriate moment and cause a nasty accident.
