Top dog walkers in Golden Pines
Wag! Walkers know Golden Pines
Golden Pines is an older community that is conveniently close to everything Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, and Coral Way have to offer. One of the best parts of living here is that you are close to all the action while still living in a quiet family neighborhood setting. The majority of the homes here are single-family with modest yards and there are several dog-friendly parks within driving distance including the Coconut Grove Dog Park over on the coast. Pet supply stores are also within driving distance to ensure you keep Tilly well-fed and entertained with lots of treats and toys. Although there are few restaurants locally, there are plenty to choose from in nearby Coconut Grove.
You will love the weather here! January is the coldest month but only drops into the 60s most years. Summers are glorious with temperatures in the 80s and low 90s, making every day a good day to go walking with Tilly.
What is the terrain like in Golden Pines?
Like most of Miami, you aren't going to find much in the way of exciting terrain living in Golden Pines. But what the area lacks in challenging terrain, it more than makes up for in the sheer number of blocks you can choose from to make your walks more interesting. Thankfully, there are plenty of sidewalks and they have grass berms for Tilly to walk on. The grass not only gives Tilly somewhere to do their business, but it also gives them somewhere cooler to walk on when the pavement gets too hot.
Keep in mind that the hotter it gets outside, the hotter the sidewalk will become. During the summer months, the pavement can reach over 135°F, which is hot enough to severely burn poor Tilly's paws. Do your pup a favor and take the,m for walks early in the morning before the sun has time to turn everything into molten lava.
How many greenways are there in Golden Pines?
Golden Pines is a tightly packed community with little room for green spaces, but fortunately, there is one park in the neighborhood. Douglas Park on Douglas Rd. is a nice place to bring the family for a little fun in the sun. There is a playground, tennis and basketball courts, an outdoor fitness center, picnic tables, and plenty of grass to run around.
If you want somewhere for Tilly to be able to run around off-leash, the nearest area is Blanche Park at 3405 Shipping Ave. Blanche Park offers a fenced-in off-leash dog park where Tilly can run around to their heart's content while you relax in a nice shady seating area. The park offers waste bags and receptacles to encourage everyone to clean up after their dog. The park is open from 7 am until 10 pm daily for you and your energetic pup to enjoy.
