Top dog walkers in Florida Gun rib
Wag! Walkers know Florida Gun rib
Florida Gun Rib is a section of houses with a spectacular view of the Spruce Creek Preserve, a vast green space of waterways, marshes, and great places for you and your dog to go hiking. At the same time, your home is only one block from US-1, a bustling highway that leads into town and all points north to Maine and south to Key West. There are places to eat within walking distance.
While there is some noise from the highway, the preserve on the other side of the waterway helps maintain the quiet nature of this neighborhood. Along with the Spruce Creek Preserve, there are other places for you and your dog to go hiking where both of you can enjoy plenty of fresh air and sunshine. Shopping for food and pet supplies is only a five-minute drive back into town and the beach is only ten minutes on the other side of the Indian River North.
What is the terrain like in Florida Gun rib?
Within the community and those along the waterway, traffic is mostly quiet, limited to those who live there. The only times you are likely to see heavy traffic is during rush hours and, even then, it's manageable. The main street, Faulkner Street, has a sidewalk running along the east side of it that has plenty of shade trees to help keep you and your pooch cooled off on your daily walks.
Do keep in mind that you are only a single block from the highway, so you may see a few lost souls trying to find their way around. The land here is quite flat and doesn't have much in the form of challenge to make your walks far more interesting such as crossing US-1 to the numerous other residential areas. This will at least allow you to add more distance and variety to your walks which will keep them a little interesting.
How many greenways are there in Florida Gun rib?
Just on the other side of the waterway is the Spruce Creek Preserve, a vast 1,600-acre nature preserve of swamps, scrubs, and forests. The preserve offers the two of miles of trails for the two of you to explore; some will take you the six miles to Rose Bay and back. Be sure you take advantage of the observation tower to look out over the swamps. These trails are quite popular with other hikers, and dog walkers so be prepared for this and make sure you always keep your pup under control.
Ten minutes to the east of the North Causeway is the Atlantic waters and miles of fabulous beach. You and your dog can walk, jog, run, and play for as far as the eye can see! Try using the soft sand to work your leg muscles. When you get tired, the two of you can go for a swim in the waters before hiking back on the firm wet sand.
