While the Industrial Park of NSB in and of itself has no residences, there are plenty nearby along with a park, a lake, and a nature preserve. Given the fact that a high number of people are now taking their support dogs to work, knowing what the area is like can come in very handy. Being here also puts you next to the New Smyrna Beach Airport and Sports Complex. While it might seem like you are a bit out of town, in reality, you are minutes from the heart of it.
There are plenty of places to grab lunch or go out to dinner. You are close to grocery stores, pet supply stores, and just about anything else you might need. Whether you live or work here, it's only a twenty-minute drive to the beach, making it the perfect place to take your dog for long walks in the morning.
For an industrial park, the area is surprisingly heavily wooded, providing lots of shade for a walk under the trees on lunch breaks. As an industrial park, you should be prepared to deal with a significant amount of traffic including tractor-trailer and delivery vehicles during business hours and frequently late at night.
Conversely, you aren't likely to encounter much in the way of pedestrian traffic, especially if you stick to walking your dog out in the woods or in the park on the other side of Industrial Park Avenue. The great thing about the park is the large lake with a walking path around it for you and your dog to enjoy.
The ground here is quite flat, making it possible to go for long walks without excessive strain, which is perfect for older dogs suffering from the aches and pains that come with age. You'll have some good options for dogs of any disposition.
The Industrial Park of NSB is surrounded by woods where you and your pup can go for quick walks. But if you want to go for longer hikes, the Spruce Creek Preserve to the north offers more than 1,630 acres of swamps, forests, and trails to enjoy. If you are up for it, you can follow the trails all the way to Rose Bay and back. It's a fabulous walk and very popular, so be sure you and your dog are ready for lots of company.
For some real fun and variety, you can visit the beach. With both soft sand and wet sand, it's the perfect place to go for serious exercise. Keep in mind that cars are allowed on the sand, which can make for dangerous dog walking conditions. The best time of day to go walking in this area is early in the morning before the temperature starts climbing and the beach starts to fill up.
