Wag! Walkers know Kings Court
Kings Court is a small two-story condominium complex on Schoolway Avenue, three blocks from the beach. The complex is close to Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and the Coronado Beach Elementary School. For the most part, this neighborhood is relatively quiet, but during the day, you are likely to hear noise from the school and be inundated with small kids going to and from it. On Sundays, there is a fair amount of traffic going into and out of the church.
Living here puts you close to several restaurants and taverns to check out and a supermarket where you can fill the fridge and the pantry as well as buy plenty of dog food. If you are looking for something a little different, you can cruise up to historic Flagler Avenue where you will find some vintage and boutique stores, restaurants, and more bars to check out when you have some extra time on your hands.
What is the terrain like in Kings Court?
Beyond the aforementioned busy times, the neighborhood itself is relatively quiet. Living here puts you just far enough away from S Atlantic Avenue to not have to deal with much in the way of tourist traffic or the regular daily hustle and bustle. In fact, the only time you should have to deal with this road is if you decide to walk to the beach. As long as you pay attention to traffic and use the crosswalks, you should be safe.
Keep in mind that if you choose to take your dog for a walk on either side of A1A during the busy part of the day, you are likely to encounter significant pedestrian traffic. While your dog might be used to walking in a crowd, not everyone is a dog-lover. Always keep your pup on a tight leash and under control to avoid any possibility of an incident that can lead to injury.
How many greenways are there in Kings Court?
There are plenty of trees within the condo complex to help keep you cool and many of the streets are lined with them to keep you shaded while you are out walking your pooch in the hot summer sun. You can also go walking on the trails in nearby Indian River Lagoon Park or use the dock to go fishing from.
The dock juts out into Brown Bay which is part of the Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic Preserve. The preserve is part of the Indian River Lagoon Network and covers thousands of acres. There are miles of waterways to explore together in a canoe or power boat with your dog. But the locals suggest that you take someone who knows the waterways with you or use a tracking GPS to help you find your way back home. Once you are in a boat, you will have a hard time seeing usable landmarks.
