Ocean Palms Beach Club is a beachfront condominium complex offering a quiet place to relax with spectacular views of the sunrise as the sun slowly comes up out of the ocean. From local retailers to hot restaurants and groceries stores to stock up for your stay, virtually anything you need is within driving distance. This includes shops to buy pet goodies as well as necessities like treats and food. For those who love to golf, there are several exceptional golf courses in the area for you to enjoy including a municipal public course.
From playing on the beach with Fido to scuba diving with the rest of your family, there is plenty to do here. The best part is the weather with temperatures in the high 80s during the summer and the high 60s during the winter. It doesn't matter when you come here, you and your pooch will be able to go for a walk.
On one side of the neighborhood, you'll face beachfront and sandy dunes which can offer a surprising amount of difficulty when choosing it as an exercise ground for you and your pup. You can choose to venture along the dry sand or the wet sand, both which provide an adequate space to run and play, providing you can make your way around the throngs of tourists that frequent the area in the warmer months.
On the other side of the condominium complex, you'll be faced with a relatively busy street along S Atlantic Avenue. This road can clog up with traffic during peak hours, so exercise caution when deciding to traverse at these times.
If the prospect of the hustle and bustle intimidates you, you can venture across the street to the quieter, residential roads which can present a much better alternative for a pooch that is shy or not used to lots of strangers.
Beyond the beach itself, which is a massive open space all on its own, you have the Indian River Lagoon where you and your pup can wander the waterways in a canoe or rowboat. Locals recommend you spend time learning the waterways with a guide before setting out on your own.
To the north and on the southern edge of Ponce Inlet is Smyrna Dunes Park, one of the few county parks where dogs are welcome. While you must keep your pup on a leash, there are plenty of trails to run around on, a beach to play on, and plenty of space for the two of you to enjoy.
Don't forget that the beach is also dog-friendly! Once you're done playing and getting hotter than you probably should, the two of you can run down the banks and into the water where you can swim around and cool off together.
