The Willows is a picturesque residential neighborhood in Orlando, Florida. This neighborhood may be small in size but there is no shortage of things to do and amenities to utilize along the main roads. Just south of Lake Orlando and north of Lawne Lake, this lovely neighborhood is the perfect place to take your pup out and about in the busier commercial areas. Although there are no green spaces within the vicinity of the neighborhood, there are lots of options in the surrounding areas where you can step away and get a different taste of both residential and urban environments.

Barnett Park is just south of the neighborhood and boasts lots of lovely walking opportunities. The park has walking trails, playgrounds, basketball, and volleyball courts. It is a firm family favorite and it is not hard to see why! Your pooch will love running around this spacious park, playing and exploring while taking in views of the water.

Like much of Florida, the terrain in the Willows neighborhood is very flat, making it a perfect place to explore if you're not very fitness-forward or you're simply looking for a quick stroll instead of some high-octane exercise. Lazier breeds may appreciate the level ground, though this may also mean that you'll need to switch up your routines and walking paths in order to keep things marginally interesting from day to day.

Neighboring parks and lakes offer residents an easy escape from the hustle and bustle of the more urban environments that can really encompass the Orlando area. Spacious, well-kept parks are conveniently located and easily accessible at any point in the neighborhood. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that Florida heat can very easily get into the extremes, especially in the summer months. Keep an eye out for pavement that might be too hot for sensitive paw pads.

Barnett Park is the neighborhood's foremost green space. It is located just south of the neighborhood and boasts plenty of amenities for a variety of interests. There are trails to walk down, playgrounds for the kids, and golf greens, basketball courts and volleyball nets for more sports-oriented locals and residents. With no off-leash areas, however, it's important to keep local leash laws in mind and make sure you keep your pup secure during the extent of your visit to keep from running into other pedestrians and visitors.

Slightly further afield in the northeast direction is Lake Fairview Park. This park is another great spot to take your pup to get rid of some excess energy. They will love playing, exploring, and causing havoc in these grassy fields. The park is a great place to catch up with friends or family and of course, their pups! Both parks offer great year-round walking.
