Cooper City is a neighborhood located in Broward County, Florida. It is roughly 12 miles from Fort Lauderdale and 24 miles from downtown Miami. Residentially, Cooper City has several apartment complexes and several communities made of standalone, single-family homes. Commercially, Cooper City is home to a golf course and country club, several schools of varying levels, churches, sports complexes, local and chain restaurants, coffee shops, and several shopping complexes. LeadER Animal Speciality Hospital can be found on the eastern side which is great if Fido needs a check-up or has an emergency. La Bone Pet Spa is also in the eastern part of the neighborhood in case Fido needs a trim or wash!

Most of South Florida, Cooper City included, has a tropical climate. Most summer and fall days will be very hot with high humidity levels. These months also bring the most rain. The winter and spring months will still be warm, but with significantly less humidity and rainfall.

Like the rest of South Florida, Cooper City is relatively flat, particularly because the neighborhood is typically at or below sea level. You and Fido shouldn't stumble upon any strenuous hills while out getting your daily exercise. Additionally, as it is so close to two major South Florida cities, Cooper City is mostly artificial terrain. Luckily, there are still plenty of greenways if you and Fido are looking for more greenery. However, if you're not looking to explore those greenways and are looking to stay in more residential communities, you'll find plenty of sidewalks, many of which are shaded from large trees.

The boundaries of Cooper City include Griffin Road to the north, South Pine Island Road to the east, Sheridan Street to the south, and South Flamingo Road to the west. Stirling Road, North Hiatus Road, and Northwest 106th Avenue are other major roadways that pedestrians may wish to avoid.

Cooper City has plenty of greenways for you and your furry friend to explore, including several dog parks nearby. Cooper City greenways include Tamarind Park, Forest Lake Park, Ted Ferone Park, Cooper City Memorial Park, Christie Schafale Park, Brian Piccolo Sports Park and Velodrome, Passive Park, and Cooper City Sports Complex. Many of these parks are smaller and are located in the residential areas of Cooper City. Many also have playgrounds, general recreation areas, and some even have nice walking trails for you and Fido to leisurely explore.

Thankfully, nearby dog parks include Johnson Street Dog Park, Bicentennial Park, Wolf Lake Park, and Peaceful Ridge Dog Park. Some are larger than others, but all have fenced-in areas for Fido to explore. These are the perfect option if your pup has some extra energy to exercise off, needs to socialize with other local dogs, or just wants a break from the normal, daily walks.
