Wag! Walkers know Cambridge Villas
The community of Cambridge Villas is a small family neighborhood
sitting between Spruce Creek Road and the tributary creek that runs into Rose Bay.
Along with the stream to the east, the area boasts a small lake of its own on the eastern end. The houses are upscale with smaller yards that are well-kept.
There are several advantages to living here, especially with
direct access to both Taylor Road and South Nova Road. Both of these will take you to different
sections of Dunlawton Avenue where you will find stores selling everything you and
your family need, including a Walmart Supercenter where you can choose from a huge variety of items.
Dunlawton Avenue is also the direct route to the beach. I-95 is the
main north-south highway offering a direct commute to the Cape, the Air Force
Base, and all points south. You can also head north to Daytona, Palm Coast, and St. Augustine. In Daytona, I-95 connects with I-4 that even takes you
to Orlando!
What is the terrain like in Cambridge Villas?
Within the bounds of the community, the streets all have
sidewalks for you and your dog to walk along instead of being stuck walking on
the roads. Like any family neighborhood, there will be a certain amount of
traffic during the usual rush hours, but after this, it stays pretty quiet here. There is
plenty of time for you and your dog to go for walkies!
Do keep in mind that, as a family neighborhood, there are
likely to be kids of all ages playing and riding their bikes. This may be too much for some dogs and causes over excitement. The best way to handle this is to always use a short
walking leash that lets you maintain full control at all times.
There is plenty
of shade in the neighborhood, but not much of it along the sidewalks, so you
might want to keep your walks to the early hours in the summer before it gets too hot.
How many greenways are there in Cambridge Villas?
From the end of the street, you can look out over the creek
and into Rose Bay. You may even find some dry areas along the bank where you and
your pup can go for walks! However, as this is a tidal
area, you need to be careful where you step as all that you see might not be as
solid as it looks.
However, you are less than a five-minute drive from the All
Children's Park and the Seemore Memorial Dog Park. You
can pack the whole family in the car with a picnic lunch and make a day of it! The park has a playground for the kids, a picnic pavilion, and a lot of room to play.
Next door, the
dog park offers separate fenced-in areas for large and small breeds. Each area has a place for your dog to get fresh drinking water, an area to rinse the dogs off after playtime, and shady benches for you
to relax on.
