Top dog walkers in Daniels Port Orange
Wag! Walkers know Daniels Port Orange
Daniels Port Orange is an undeveloped section of riverside property close to Dunlawton Avenue. While there aren't any homes here, this spot does currently make a great area for those who live in the communities on the other side of US-1 to bring their dogs for a walk. On the west side of US-1, there is a mix of both single-family and multi-family housing along with numerous businesses.
If you live on the west side of the highway, you are only minutes from Dunlawton Avenue and the central shopping district. Between Riverside Drive and I-95, you will find a large selection of big box and local retailers, grocery stores, and even pet supply stores.
Riverside Park and the walkway along the riverbank make a great place for you and your dog to go for long walks together. The beach is only 10 minutes away and 25 minutes to the west is a 30,000-acre wildlife management area where the two of you can go for long hikes.
What is the terrain like in Daniels Port Orange?
This is a bustling area of town with US-1 running through it and Dunlawton Avenue sitting to the south. Traffic here can be hectic all day long, but especially during rush hour. Within the nearby residential areas, these times can be bustling, but outside of these hours, the streets running through them tend to be relatively quiet. Unfortunately, you may have a bit of pedestrian traffic to contend with instead.
By far, the best place to take your dog for daily walks is over to Riverside Park and the grass walkway running south along the waterfront. This walkway is wide enough for you to walk comfortably from the park all the way to Dunlawton and then continue on the other side. It makes an excellent place for the two of you to walk safely and the traffic on Halifax Drive is generally far less than on US-1.
How many greenways are there in Daniels Port Orange?
The area here currently includes a large undeveloped area where many people come to walk their dogs. One block to the north is Riverside Park, a large open area of lawn with a walking path and a pavilion.
On the eastern end of the Dunlawton Avenue Bridge is the Atlantic coast and miles of beach. You can drive out onto the sand, park your car, and then take off hiking for as far as you and your dog can handle.
Twenty-five miles to the west on US-92 is the Tiger Bay State Forest, a part of the Tiger Bay Wildlife Management Area. The WMA covers more than 30,000 acres and is made up of dense forests, scrubs, lakes, creeks, and wetlands. There are miles of trails to hike that take you deep into a variety of terrain. The scenery never seems to stay the same and you never know what types of animals or birds you might see along the way!
