Wag! Walkers know Palmas Bay Club
As one of the southernmost communities in Port Orange, Palmas Bay Club is an excellent neighborhood of substantial luxury homes set on Palmas Bay Circle in such a way as to resemble concentric circles. Those homes sitting on Spruce Creek not only have private docks, but a spectacular view of the creek and Strickland Bay. The entire community is filled with large shade trees to help keep the sun at bay and make the whole area a little cooler.
You might think that living this far south would make it hard to go shopping, find pet supplies, or go out to eat. What may surprise you is that even being in this area, you are never more than ten to fifteen minutes by car from everything you'll need! Dunlawton Avenue to the north offers numerous stores and shopping centers where you can buy anything and everything, so you'll never want for amenities.
What is the terrain like in Palmas Bay Club?
Palmas Bay Club is a very secluded gated community. The homes all sit on Palmas Bay Circle, the only road in town. The road forms a perfect circle which gives you and your pup a great place to take your daily walks. The one thing missing from the picture, unfortunately, are sidewalks for you to walk on. With so much shade in the neighborhood, you will need to keep an eye out for traffic as you share the road with vehicles.
Keep in mind that even though this is a gated community, residents still go to work in the mornings and come home at night. However, beyond this, you and your pup shouldn't have much in the way of vehicular traffic to worry about. The amount of shade on the roads can make the two of you hard to see in the later hours, so be sure you wear something light-colored that keeps you visible.
How many greenways are there in Palmas Bay Club?
Interestingly enough, you can see the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve on the other side of Spruce Creek. But if you want to take your dog to this 1,637-acre nature preserve, it's a 25-minute drive. The reason for this is that you have to drive to the entrance itself. Luckily, you have a few other options to venture to if you don't feel like making this much longer trip.
Much closer to your home is the All Children's Park and Seemore Memorial Dog Park. The children's park is a vast playground and athletic fields facility with softball fields, tennis courts, and a splash pad for the kids. The dog park covers an acre and has three fenced-in areas with watering stations, plenty of waste bags, and benches in the shade for you to relax on while your pooch gets out there and plays with the other dogs.
