Top dog walkers in Trailwood
Wag! Walkers know Trailwood
Trailwood is an apartment community located on Willow Trail Run, the only road into the community leading off South Nova Rd. To the west of the townhomes, the entire area is a vast network of residential neighborhoods. To the north and on South Nova Road is Dunlawton Avenue, the main east-west route through town.
Not only is Dunlawton the main highway through town, but it is also home to most of the stores, shopping centers, and strip malls. Along this strip of road, you will find a Publix Supermarket, the local Walmart Supercenter, a Pet Supercenter, and plenty of stores where you can buy just about anything you and your family are likely to need.
There are several parks, wildlife management areas, and the beach for you and your family to explore and enjoy in the area. Most are less than a fifteen to twenty-minute drive of your apartment.
What is the terrain like in Trailwood?
Living next door to South Nova Road comes at the expense of dealing with heavy traffic from early in the morning until well past most people's bedtime. With Trailwood and most of the surrounding neighborhoods, the morning and evening rush hours tend to be the busy times of the day. During the school year, you will also be dealing with those ubiquitous yellow buses. Once you get the timing down, you and your pup should be able to find times where there is little to no commotion.
One thing to keep in mind is that all of the residential areas around you are family-friendly. At any time of the day, you are likely to come across kids of all ages at play in their yards. If your dog loves kids, too many running up at one time could cause uncharacteristic behavior. To help prevent this, keep your dog on a short leash and talk to children about how they should approach your pup properly.
How many greenways are there in Trailwood?
Within Trailwood, the only green spaces are the areas of grass between the different buildings. The nearest park is Buschman Park and the Margaret Buschman Parcel over on Spruce Creek Road. The park offers walking trails for you and your dog to hike along and a pier that leads out into the lake. The lake has fish in it and a walking trail as well. It's a great park to spend time with your whole family in!
To the south is the city's only dog park. The Seemore Memorial Dog Park is quite unique. What makes this park different is that it has been sectioned off into three separate fenced-in areas. The first two are the usual sections divided by size, but the third is for dogs with disabilities or special needs to keep them separate and safe. All sections have water and shady benches for you to sit on.
