Wag! Walkers know Trailwood Townhouses
Living in a community like the Trailwood Townhouses that is set
back off of South Nova Road has its good and bad points. The main negative point is the
steady drone of traffic flowing by all hours of the day and night. The townhomes here are at the west side of the
neighborhood and, luckily, those buildings to the east do help block the noise.
The grounds do offer a little bit of a noise buffer from time to time. There
are plenty of shade trees and on the other side of the privacy fence is a
small creek with a walking path running along it. There are major grocery
stores within five minutes of your home such as a Winn-Dixie and a Publix. Walmart is
also nearby if you need it! Along Dunlawton Avenue, there
are several strip malls, shopping centers, and some of the best local and chain
restaurants in town.
What is the terrain like in Trailwood Townhouses?
Although traffic along South Nova Road stays steady all day long
and doesn't slow down much at night, within Trailwood Townhouses, the only time
there is much hustle and bustle is during rush hour. Even with this, there
aren't that many homes here, so rush hour traffic is easily manageable. You just have to keep your eyes open and be
prepared to move out of the way should a car be coming down the street.
Even though you might not have much in the way of cars to
deal with, this is a family neighborhood. With this comes plenty of
pedestrians of all ages, moms with strollers, cyclists, skateboarders, and other passersby which can distract your dog and make them harder to control. The best thing you
can do is keep your pooch on a short leash or take alternate walking routes through the nearby communities to avoid any major crowds.
How many greenways are there in Trailwood Townhouses?
The lake on the other side of South Nova Road is the only thing
close that qualifies as green space. The lake is more of a retention pond, but
it does give you and your pooch a green space to walk on instead of being stuck
walking of pavement all the time.
If you like the idea of being able to hike for
miles in the Florida forests, Tiger Bay State Forest is less than twenty minutes to the west. The forest is part of the 30,000 acres of the Tiger
Bay Wildlife Management Area. There are dozens of trails running throughout that are open to horseback riders, cyclists, hikers, and others
who are out walking their dogs.
The Seemore Memorial Dog Park is ten minutes south on Spruce
Creek Road and offers plenty of room for your dog to run around in one of the three
fenced-in areas. Each
has water for the dogs and shady places to sit for their human companions.
