Top dog walkers in Menendez Landings
Wag! Walkers know Menendez Landings
Menendez Landings can be hard to find as you won't see this exclusive community on the map. The homes here are considered spacious yet competitively priced with the first built in 2002 and the last in 2007. All homes are single-family and in the $0.5 million and up range. This small neighborhood features homes hidden in the trees with large 0.75-acre yards and moderate tree cover. Walking here involves strolling along Lake Ellen Drive on well-maintained sidewalks. Since the community is only one block long, you don't have far to go until you are out of Menendez Landings, but the sidewalk goes on.
Both pet stores and dog-friendly parks are within driving distance, but then, just about everything is except for the small lakeside area behind the homes here. You can take your pup over there for a romp around so both of you can get the exercise you need.
What is the terrain like in Menendez Landings?
The terrain in Menendez Landings is like the weather in Tampa, almost flatline. But this doesn't have to make for boring walks! What it does make for is a dog owner who is willing to step outside of the box when it comes to going for walkies. Behind the homes here, there are small gatherings of trees you can walk through during the daytime, a large empty lot on the side of Lake Ellen you can check out, and blocks of sidewalks to explore. While the ground here might not represent much of a challenge, you may find the summer heat can. It may not be noticeable to you, but to a dog, it can be a bit much! Not only would it be too hot for long-haired or double-coated dogs to walk around during the heat of a July or August day, but the sidewalks and streets can quickly reach temperatures that can easily burn.
How many greenways are there in Menendez Landings?
One of the not-so-good things about living in the Menendez Landings area of Tampa is that there are not very many green spaces for you and your pup unless you are ready to drive a short distance outside of the area to find them. While there are many lakes, most are surrounded by private homes and have no public access. You can, of course, drive to one of the parks in the area, but they are a bit of a distance away, as is the beach. But along with the beach, you will find an off-leash dog park and plenty of open areas for you and your pooch to enjoy.
Carroll Park is the closest dog-friendly park and offers a large grassy area to run around along with a paved trail that meanders around the park. There is also a fenced-in dog park where your pup can run around off-leash.
