Shaver Weiser Homes is a small community located on N. 52nd Street between E. Temple Heights Rd. and E. Busch Blvd. The homes here are single-family mid-size homes with large suburban-sized yards. There are several restaurants in walking distance, parks nearby to walk your dog in, and pet stores all within driving distance. You may notice that the streets around here tend to come up short in the number of sidewalks for you and your pup to walk on. But if you need sidewalks, all you have to do is walk down to E. Busch Blvd. as there are wide sidewalks for the two of you to stroll along. Of course, there are no bad days to go for a walk as the sun shines here most of the year. Even when the sun isn't shining, the two of you can still go for a walk no matter the weather!
The terrain here is mostly artificial as you might expect living in the middle of the Greater Tampa area. It is also remarkably flat which can make finding a good place to get in some challenging exercise a bit difficult. The good news is that there are a number of parks in the area to take your pooch to if you are looking for something a little different. Alternatively, you can learn to make the most of the concrete jungle surrounding your home. For example, you could go hang out at the Park at Chesterbury and take advantage of the large grassy area to play in. Make this a part of your daily walks or try walking over to Woodmont Park and taking in the trails. The more you vary the types of walks the two of you go on, the more interested your pup will be in talking you into taking him for walks.
Like most of the tiny neighborhoods in Tampa, the only real green spaces are the many backyards. In Shaver Weiser Homes, this is very much the case, but fortunately, there are green spaces in the near vicinity that are perfect for you and your dog to have fun in. For example, behind the Temple Terrace United Methodist Church is a small park. The Park at Chesterbury is not much more than a big patch of grass, but it at least gives you both some grass to play a game of fetch on.
Just down the road is Woodmont Park with plenty of grass and trails for the two of you to enjoy. Up north is Takomah Trail Park with acres of grass, lots of trails, and a lagoon to experience. When you live here, finding green spaces to play in is easy as there are several within a short driving distance.
