Buckhead Forest has a few streets made of standalone, single-family homes. There is also a small duplex complex and some condos in the northern part of the neighborhood. However, much of the neighborhood, particularly in the south, is made of shopping malls. You will also find a bridal shop, a bank, a hotel, some local restaurants and bars, and a brewery.
As for weather, you shouldn't experience anything too extreme. The summers can be hot and humid, but the spring, fall, and winter months tend to be more mild. In the winters in particular, snow is a rare occurrence, but you should experience some rainfall occasionally.
However, Buckhead Forest does have quite a few rolling hills throughout the area, so do your research in advance in case you or Fido have any mobility issues.
The boundaries of Buckhead Forest include Piedmont Road North to the east, Peachtree Road Northeast to the south, and Roswell Road Northwest to the west. The southern part of the neighborhood is home to all the commercial properties and shopping complexes, so there may be more traffic in that part of Buckhead Forest.
Less than a mile to the south of Buckhead Forest, you will find Frankie Allen Park. This greenway has a few sports facilities, some walking trails, and a historic cemetery.
Unfortunately, the nearest dog park is six miles away to the southeast. Mason Mill Dog Park is an off-leash area that will be perfect if Fido has extra energy to run, wants to meet some other local pups, or if you're just looking for something different than your routine walk.
