Loring Heights is located on the northside of Atlanta, Georgia. This residential and commercial neighborhood is walkable with plenty of shops and services located along Northside Drive on the west side and Bishop Street running through the south side.
Hollywood Feed is located on the southwest corner, within walking distance, and sells pet supplies for dog owners and their pets. There is a large commercial area on the south side of the neighborhood, but some shops are on the opposite side of the train tracks which impede their walkability.

Loring Heights has 300 homes and commercial areas located on its west and south sides. The neighborhood is triangular shaped with Northside Drive on its west border, Horace E. Tate Freeway on the northeast, and train tracks on the southeast side. There is lots of commercial and industrial activity on the south side of the community and parking lots with large paved areas do not make the area ideal for walking.
Quiet residential areas have lots of shade trees and are better bets for a stroll with your furry friend. The homes are mostly single-family, 1940s bungalows, with some new construction infill homes. Private properties are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. There are also some multi-family housing complexes on the north side of the neighborhood.
The area has some hills which require effort to traverse and some areas do not have separate sidewalks. Be careful, especially in hilly areas where sightlines are poor.

This large 14-acre urban park has recreational areas, sports facilities and fields, and a wheelchair accessible paved path appropriate for people and pets of all ability levels. There are several trails in the park including a 1-mile long beltline trail running through the park perpendicular to the old beltline rail corridor.
Tanyard Creek is a large forested park and greenway with lots of trails and terrain to explore with your dog on a leash. There are also two off-leash dog areas in the park for your pup to enjoy some free fun as well.
