Ridgedale Park is located in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. This area is particularly well-known for its upscale shopping, restaurants, and its lively nightlife. Ridgedale Park, however, is more of a residential community composed of standalone, single-family homes. There are also a few condominium complexes, some more upscale and others that are more moderate, and an assisted living facility in Ridgedale Park. Thankfully, many amenities like grocery stores and shopping complexes are within close distance to this neighborhood.
Unfortunately, this neighborhood is definitely lacking sidewalks for you and your furry friends to use. This means that you will need to share the roadways with other pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists, so always exercise caution and make sure Fido's leash is secure! Thankfully, because this is a residential community, you hopefully won't be sharing the roads with any high-speed traffic.
The boundaries of Ridgedale Park include Peachtree Road to the north, East Club Drive to the east; railroad tracks to the south, with Roxboro and Peachtree Dunwoody Roads to the west.
A mile and a half to the east, you will find Fernwood Park. Again, this greenway is also an unkempt patch of trees and natural vegetation.
However, if you are willing to travel just a bit further, you will find Brookhaven Park just over a mile and a half northeast of Ridgedale Park. This public park is home to baseball fields, basketball courts, a picnicking area and playground, a community garden, and fields for general recreation. This dog-friendly park is also in the planning phase of creating a five-acre, off-leash, fenced-in area for you and Fido to explore!
