Wesley Battle is a rural residential neighborhood located on the northwest side of Atlanta, Georgia. There are no small businesses, restaurants, or convenience shops within walking distance and residential rural roads were not designed for pedestrian travel which impedes the area's walkability. There is lots of green space in the area to enjoy on walks, however, and natural trails on private properties and in natural areas.

Atlanta weather is very amenable to on foot travel with warm springs and autumns and a few showers that will require a rain jacket. Winters are colder and wetter and a warm rain jacket will be an asset for dog walkers who like to take their dogs out regularly. Temperatures are rarely below freezing and snow is uncommon in the region. Summers are hot and humid, however, and when extreme heat and humidity occur, avoid overexertion or overexposing yourself or your dog.

The interstate is not a pedestrian-friendly area and should be avoided. Peachtree Creek creates an impediment to on foot travel to the south and west.

Wesley Battle is a country residential area with well spread out homes on large rural properties. The area, including public and private properties, is heavily treed and well shaded in summer. There are three roads in the area with only 250 homes located mostly along W Wesley Road, Peachtree Battle Ave. NW and Bohler Road with a few short side spurs. Residential roads do not have separate pedestrian sidewalks and pedestrians need to share the road with local traffic. The terrain is heavily treed and hilly, so watch out for vehicles on area roadways.
