Woodfield, a small and humble community situated directly in between the center of Buckhead and Downtown Atlanta, is by no means underestimated. This community holds the best of both worlds. From the stylish restaurants, bars, and art galleries to the inner city feel of Atlanta, this community has it all. Buckhead has become the dog owner’s favorite due to the pedestrianized outdoor shopping zone and abundance of puppy-friendly cafes. The community is bordered by green space on three of its four boundaries. Woodfield's proximity to Haynes Manor Park and Atlanta Memorial Park makes it a great contender for your dog’s favorite too.
Buckhead’s history adds to the style and virtue of the community with the wooden Victorian bungalows and giant Georgian houses being the neighborhood's most popular style of home. The charming beauty of the houses and the sunny weather of Georgia make Woodfield a pleasure for not only your four-legged friend to have a walk around, but you too.
Due to the size of Woodfield, it is easy to say that to cover the whole community in just one dog walk would not be unheard of. However, this adds to the charm of the small neighborhood and, because of the size, everyone is super friendly! A quick walk may turn into a long one as you chat to all the neighbors. This combined with the flat terrain and accessibility creates a lovely walking destination for a daily stroll. Here, the slow pace of life means no need for sidewalks. Just walk on the road!
Aside from the streets and houses, the neighborhood is pleasantly balanced between natural and artificial. Nicely mowed lawns and potted plants are a must-have for each of the homes and the tall trees that tower above the house create the ultimate woodland feel. The rural sense of the Woodfield is reflected in its name but the balance between city life and suburban is unflawed.
Atlanta Memorial Park is just one of the green spaces that line the border of Woodfield. The park is a gigantic 200 acres and holds amenities like tennis courts, woodland trails, and picnic benches. Peachtree Creek is a river that runs through the park, providing a riverside walking route. This is a great alternative to mix up your dog walking adventures. To add to the excellence of the park, there are also giant rolling fields that span acres wide at a time, providing an ideal spot for your puppy to stretch their legs!
Another park that borders Woodfield is Haynes Manor Park, a smaller but idyllic green zone to have a wander around. Perhaps this green space is more suited to daily walks as it is much smaller and takes only around 20 minutes to have a stroll. Having said this, the park doesn’t have walking paths, so if it rains, bring your rain boots!
