Chrysler Village is a small neighborhood located in the southwest region of Chicago. It is part of the Clearing Community Area and sits adjacent to the Chicago Midway International Airport. There are two industrial, commercial areas located along the main streets north and south of Chrysler Village. Some services are available along these streets that residents can access on foot. The park in the center of the neighborhood is a popular walking destination for residents and their pets.

Chrysler Village experiences the full brunt of Chicago's variable weather without the moderating influences of Lake Michigan. Inclement weather can make walking in the neighborhood unpleasant on cold, snowy winter days, stormy, rainy spring days, or sweltering, humid summer days. Be prepared for different weather conditions depending on the season if you are traveling with your dog on foot. You both may need appropriate weather gear. In summer, walking early or later in the day can help you avoid getting overheated.

The homes in the district consist of both single-family houses and duplex units, built during World War II to house defense plant workers. These buildings are made primarily of brick and are laid out in a concentric pattern around the park at the center of the neighborhood. Chicago Midway International Airport and associated industrial buildings are located on the north border of the community. The residential streets of Chrysler Village are quiet with lawns, trees, and sidewalks as well as flat terrain that provides pleasant walking conditions. Busier commercial streets bordering the community on the north and south have lots of pavement, parking lots, vehicles accessing the local businesses, airport traffic, and noise, and are less hospitable to pedestrian traffic. You can walk to the east or west, however, to visit neighboring residential communities and create a longer walk for energetic dogs that require more exercise than the typical outing will allow.

The Chrysler Village is built around Lawler Park which is located at its center. This 6-acre park has pedestrian ways, community facilities, and a playground. If you are looking for ampler green space and more greenways, you can visit Marquette Park, the nearest large park located to the southeast. This park has over 300 acres of green space and trails and features a large lagoon, fishing, and open lawns to run and play. Dogs must be kept on a leash in the park.

There are off-leash dog parks that can be reached by vehicle. The nearest to Chrysler Village are Bailey's Crossing to the south and Karban Dog Park to the north. If you want to access the 22-mile Lakefront trail along Lake Michigan, you can drive east to Lake Michigan and park near Jackson Park to access the lakefront trail. There is also a dog park located here called the Jackson Bark Park.
