Belfair State Park offers 94 acres of tidal flats, wetlands, and pebble beaches for visitors to enjoy year-round. Approximately 3,720 feet of beautiful saltwater shoreline is there for visitors to enjoy and people are welcomed to swim in designated areas.
Natural, gentle breezes often grace Belfair State Park, making it a relaxing destination. The conditions are also ideal for other activities, including windsurfing and kite-flying.
The calm waterways are excellent for kayaking or paddle boarding, especially for beginners or those who want to enjoy some relaxing time on the water. Fishing, clamming, and crabbing are also allowed at Belfair State Park, as long as you acquire the proper licenses.
For visitors with children, making a stop at the playground can be a great option for allowing kids to burn off some energy. Additionally, there are numerous walking trails available, creating excellent opportunities for family members and dogs to get some exercise while surrounded by mature trees, winding creeks, and swaying native grasses.
Camping options are also available. RV spaces can be rented as well as cabins. Cabins have access to community bathrooms and showers and are heated. If you want to stay with your dog, one of the cabins is pet-friendly but requires an additional $15 fee.
If you are going to bring your dog to Belfair State Park, make sure you always have a way to clean up after them. Removing waste from the park and shoreline ensures that the area remains in pristine condition, allowing the local plant and wildlife to flourish. It also allows every parkgoer to appreciate the natural beauty of the park and beach without having to worry about dog waste.Â
Additionally, it’s wise to keep a safe distance from other visitors as you walk through the park. Not every person is comfortable around dogs, even smaller onces, so be respectful when you encounter other visitors.
