While there is no electricity or running water at the beach, the restrooms and showers make this an excellent option for families and individuals alike. There is dock space available for a rental fee of $4 per foot per day, and hourly resident rates are $10 per hour. Residents can purchase a season pass for $325.
In addition to the dock space, Great Gun Beach boasts a picnic area, small playground, and ample space for enjoying the sunset or a romp in the waves. A favorite spot for fishers (although not in the designated swim area), enjoy a day of peace and quiet at Great Gun Beach this summer.
While dogs are not allowed, there are plenty of ways to keep yourself busy while you soak up the stunning sunsets and warm ocean breeze. If you do plan to get in the water, swimmers must stay within the green flags. No snorkels, blow up toys, or rafts are allowed in the designated swim area.
Please keep in mind that only trained service animals (no ESA animals) are permitted, and there is no fishing in the swim area or grills or open flames allowed. Offering a small marina and long, sandy beach, Great Gun Beach is a relatively undiscovered gem on Fire Island that is calling your name this summer! Remember, Great Gun Beach can only be accessed by boat, so get yours ready and plan for a great day away from the crowds in picturesque Brookhaven.
