Kaaawa Beach Park is a fun, secluded white-sand beach that you and your pup are both sure to love! Dogs are welcome to join you at this beach below the high-tide line, which is usually marked by seaweed.
Kaaawa Beach Park doesn’t have its own parking lot, but there is street parking right next to the beach. The beach itself is long and narrow, making it great for strolls along the water. As you’re walking down the beach, you’ll get great views of the Ko'olau Mountains in the distance. You may also see some fishermen casting their lines—many fishermen come to Kaaawa Beach Park to catch octopus.
You can also swim at the beach if you’d like, but just be aware the current can get strong here. There’s also a shallow reef on the ocean floor, which can be a bit tough on your feet. If the ocean is too rough to swim in, you and your dog can splash around on the shoreline. If playing in the water makes you and your dog tired, you can relax on the sand and enjoy the views. If you need a break from the sun, there are plenty of trees along the beach that provide shade.
The beach also has picnic tables that are perfect for scenic al fresco meals with your dog. There’s also a large grassy area next to the picnic tables where you can play games of catch with your pup.
Kaaawa Beach Park is a quiet beach that’s pawpular with locals and offers great views of the ocean. Be sure to bring some drinking water and doggy bags with you, and have a fun day out in the sun with your furry best friend!
