If your pupster is craving some time on the beach, it’s time for a visit to Kaiona Beach Park. This furrific beach is situated on the southeast side of Oahu, and is the pawfect place for your pooch to relax, unwind, and forget about their canine worries.
There are so many things that make this beach park extra
puptacular. For starters, it is doggone
beautiful! Like other Oahu beaches, it
has white sand and bright blue water. Unlike other beaches, the water can be incredibly
clear, which makes it ideal for snorkeling. There are always sea turtles and
plenty of fish swimming right offshore. Since Kaiona Beach has calm water, it’s
a pawfect spot for families with small children in tow. The beach also
holds a little bit of history. Look closely and you will see the remains of an
old Hawaiian fish pond called Pahonu. According to local legend, the pond held
sea turtles for an old chief.
Dog restrictions at Kaiona Beach Park are pretty
straightforward. When your pal visits Kaiona Beach Park, they are allowed to
wander anywhere below the high tide line. If you aren’t quite sure where this
is, just look for a solid line of seaweed. Your four legged beach bum will be in
paradise as they frolic in the waves or dig a hole in the sand!
Since this is a beach park, there are some pawsome amenities. Both showers and restrooms are available. The park also has picnic tables, so pack a sandwich and enjoy an Oceanside lunch with your furry BFF. Playing at the beach makes doggos extra thirsty. Make sure you have plenty of water for your pup. Also, bring a clean up bag and stoop and scoop when necessary.Â
Have a furrific time with your pal at Kaiona Beach Park!
