Palm trees, bright blue water, white sand? Yes, please! What could be better than spending the day with your furry best friend on a beautiful Hawaiian beach? Pack up the leash and a little bit of sunscreen and head over for some tropical fun in the sun!
Kalama Beach Park is nestled right on the shore of Kailua
Bay. Parking can be found on Kalaheo Avenue. Once you’ve found a spot, which can
be tricky on the weekend, follow the beach access path to the sand. Your doggo
will be blown away with the post card pawfect view. Canine guests are allowed
to be on the ocean side of the high tide line. Usually, this is marked by a
line of seaweed that’s been washed ashore, so go ahead and take a stroll along
the surf. Keep your eyes peeled for treasures like beautiful seashells. Though do beware of washed up jellyfish. The last thing your doggo wants is a sting on their paw.
In addition to the gorgeous sand and water scenery, this
surrounding area is home to some impressive mansions. As you walk along the long
surf, see if you can spot the lovely abodes. Kalama is a pupular place for kite and
windsurfing, as well as body boarding. This place isn't just beach, a large park is connected to the sand. If
your pup needs a break from the beach, take a spin around the grassy field. The park
has picnic pavilions, sport courts, and a skate park.
Dogs need a lot of water when hanging out
on the beach, so be sure to bring plenty of cold H2O to keep them well hydrated. Also, pack
some clean up bags and always pick up after your pup. The only thing people at
this park should smell are the tropical flowers! Above all else, have a
woofderful time with your dog at this puptacular beach!
