Just off Kamehameha Highway near the town of Haleiwa, you will find a footpath which leads down to this pawsitively awesome beach. You can bring your fave pooch to join you in all areas of this woofderful bayside retreat. Please bring along a leash and keep Fido on it at all times.Â
This North Shore beach paradise is well-known for its calm waters that provide a pawsome space for you and your best canine pal to get in some swimming time. The property houses lots of coconut palms and ironwood trees, providing lots of shade, but look out for falling coconuts!
The beach itself is curved and protected by a reef which keeps the bay waters tranquil. There are sections of the water that have a rockier bottom, so it is recommended that you stick to the middle and east sections to do your swimming.
Kawela Bay Beach is a furrific place for taking a stroll. You can meander along the white sand shore with your main canine squeeze in search of sea turtles, or gathering seashells as souvenirs of your day of beachside fun. There is also a forest directly behind the beach that is a pawsitively awesome place to take a walk. Here, you will find a large Banyan tree which has featured prominently in many different TV shows and movies, including LOST and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Pawpular activities at this pawtastic spot include surfing, swimming, picnicking, kayaking, and beachcombing. You will need to bring along drinking water and cleanup bags.
