Laenani Park Beach is a family oriented neighborhood park about the size of a football field, located in the residential community of Kahaluu. It's on the eastern side of O'ahu and has a gorgeous view of sunrises over Kaneohe Bay. This serene little park is the perfect hideaway to check out with your canine companion, or even stop by on your morning run.
Some of the facilities at this beach include a parking lot, bathrooms, water fountains, a basketball court and a volleyball court. There are also picnic tables and a pavilion on the grass, where locals like to kick back and enjoy their lunch with a view. Unfurtunately, doggos are only allowed in areas below the seawall. Although they may not be allowed within the park, they have the opportunity to cool their paws in the salty waves while their pet parents enjoy the views.
The beach itself is small and rocky. The water is calm, muddy and shallow. It's not an ideal place to swim by human standards, but your four-legged friend will love it just the same. There is a boat ramp, if you'd like to hit the water with your furry first mate. There is also a broad, shallow reef that is great for spear fishing. Even without any activities planned, this beach is a nice quiet place to snuggle up next to your best pall and listen to the waves.
Doggos are welcome, and you may even meet some other furry friends. Pet parents will need to follow some ground rules, including keeping your pup leashed, below the seawall, and picked up after. Don't forget the waste bags! You may also want to bring fresh drinking water for your pupper. Dogs that drink the salt water can quickly become dehydrated.
Overall, Laenani Park Beach is a furtastic place to spend some quality time with your best pal.
