Makao Beach

If you're looking for an unusual spot to take Fido for the day, bring your pooch to visit Makao Beach. You'll have a doggone awesome time strolling the white sand shore! Makao Beach sits directly off the busy road known as Kamehameha Highway. Since it rests very close to this heavily trafficked road, very few people visit this pawtastically beautiful beach. If you are looking for a quiet spot to meander along the shore in search of sea turtles or a shell treasure or two, this is the place for you! You may bring your main canine squeeze along on your travels with you, but please keep them leashed at all times.

Though swimming is not forbidden at this wooftastic seaside retreat, it is not recommended for people or for pooches due to the coral reef which can be found right at the water's edge. The reef is sharp, making injury to your pup's tender tootsies highly possible. 

This barking great beach haven sits within the town of Hauula in the northern section of Oahu's eastern coast. You will find it is the pawfect place to take in some snorkeling, and you can also do some fishing from the shoreline. 

Pawrking can be easily located on the street, and it is free for the pawblic to use. Since no amenities are provided at this puptastic beach, you will need to bring along drinking water and cleanup bags from home. 

Makao Beach is kept furrifically clean. It is a pawsome spot to take in some of Oahu's best sunrises. The scenery is so pawrific that you'll be glad you brought your camera along to capture it in photos. 

As with all Hawaiian beaches, doggoes visiting Makao Beach must be up to date on all vaccinations. It is also required that your pooch bear a current city dog license tag on their collar.
