Ottowa Lake

Ottawa Lake is located in Dousman Wisconsin. It is 17 acres and located next to a campground. Because of the beach's composition, there are not a lot of sunbathers drawn to the area. Most tourists come with a pole and a boat to try their luck at snagging a fish. If you like bringing your best fur buddy with you while trying to land a big fish, this place could be a great place to visit. There isn’t much information about pooches being allowed, so be sure to bring a leash along just in case.

The lake’s website describes the beach as only 10% sand and 90% muck -so the terrain might be a bit different than other beaches you’ve visited. The location is mainly used for fishing, boating, and swimming. You can catch Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleyes, and Panfish. As mentioned, the beach is located next to a campground. The campground does have restrooms and showers available, but it’s unknown if non-overnight visitors can use these amenities.

However, as a rule of thumb, it’s always good to bring your pooch’s leash, a bowl, as well as water, and poop bags if you’re just doing a day trip. It’s important to always be mindful of the beach you’re visiting. Make sure your dog is respectful of the landmarks and other visitors. This includes always picking up after your dog.
